Topic: Half-Life 2 & Video Cards...

So I'm looking at updating my video card in preparation for Half-Life 2 and I was hoping to get a little discussion of some of the cards currently available. Specifically, I'm interested in an ATI Radeon 9800 or a Nvidia GeForce 5900 based card. They both seem to be priced around the same amount (the Radeon 9800 is around $40 less, but it hardly makes a difference when you're already spending that much), and they both are top of the line products from their respective companies.

So does anybody out there have any anecdotes about their experiences with either of these cards. Or hell... any other video card currently available. Your feedback is always appreciated.

I would get an ATI 9800 or a ATI 9800 Pro if you can swing it.

The Nvidia you mentioned is one of the cards that has a few problems. The Nvidia 6800 series are great what I switched to from my 9800. The ATI x800 xt is just to expensive.

The 128 MB Radeon 9800 Pro only costs $70
Tfe 256 MB version costs $107
