Topic: Gigabyte K8NS Pro
So I decided it was time to upgrade my gaming rig, and I went with this board (Gigabyte K8NS Pro) with an Athlon 64 3200+. I'm pretty psyched about it, cause it seems to have some good reviews.
That being said, it was just delivered yesterday (got a good deal at Newegg.com), and I already ran into a small snag (well... two small snags, really). The first is that I have an old power supply with no 12-V connector. Honestly, I'm so out of tough these days that I'm not even sure what the 12-V power supply connector is good for. I figured I can pick one up later today (should be able to grab one locally easy enough) -- not a big deal.
The other problem I'm having is that after upgrading from my old ASUS MB with an Athlon XP (Via BIOS), the box won't boot into Windows. Basically, I get a blue screen as soon as XP starts to load and it reboots before I can even see what the error message is. Sad, eh? So i'm gonna try doing a repair install of Windows XP and see if that fixes anything. Fingers crossed. I'll update when i have some new information.
